Frequently Asked Questions

Call Channels

Call channels are like virtual phone lines, carrying 1 call inbound or outbound.

We give you 3 call channels free with your account, and additional channels can be purchased via the portal.

Understanding Call channels

Each inbound call requires 1 call channel.
Each outbound destination number uses 1 call channel, so 2 destination numbers needs 2 channels.
Calls forwarded to VoIP users do not require channels outbound as the calls stay within our network.

Examples

An inbound call that is forwarding to 1 destination phone number looks like this-
1 x inbound call uses 1 call channel
1 x outbound call forward to 1 telephone number uses 1 channel
(2 channels used)

An inbound call that is forwarding to 2 destinations looks like this –
1 x inbound call uses 1 call channel
2 x outbound calls forwarded to 2 telephone numbers uses 2 channels
(3 channels used when both destinations ring, but down to 2 channels when a destination answers and takes the call)

An inbound call that is forwarding to 2 VoIP users looks like this –
1 x inbound call uses 1 call channel
2 x outbound calls using VoIP uses 0 channels
(1 channel used)

If you see blocked call alerts from us, then simply purchase more channels from the portal to increase your call capacity. Channels are purchased on a 30 day cycle, so you can add or reduce these as necessary.

If you require any further information about clal channels then please let us know.
